Frequently Asked Questions
-
Not at all. The app handles encryption and cloud syncing automatically. You just choose what you want to protect.
-
This is exactly that we designed Green Bubble for! As long as you still have access to your cloud provider and your encryption keys, you can restore your backups on your new device.
-
Large backups can take time.
If you’re backing up more than 2,000 photos or videos, the process may take several hours or even days depending on your connection, file sizes, and battery life. Weak or unstable network coverage can also cause your device or operating system to pause or time out automatic backups.
To avoid interruptions, we recommend plugging in your phone, staying on a reliable connection, and ensuring your internet provider isn’t applying data‑speed throttling during large uploads.
-
Large uploads don’t always appear instantly. When you back up a big batch of photos, videos, or messages, your cloud provider may take additional time to process and display everything. For very large uploads, this can take up to 24 hours depending on the provider’s sync schedule and processing load.
If you’re not seeing your content right away, please allow up to a full day for the upload to finish syncing. It can also help to make sure your internet provider isn’t applying any upload‑speed throttling during large transfers.
-
You can view your gallery and manage local content offline. Backups require an internet connection.
-
We collect only what’s needed to create and manage your account:
Your name (optional, for personalization)
Your email address (for authentication)
The date/time your account was created
The cloud provider you connect (e.g., Google Drive)
We do not collect or store your photos, videos, messages, contacts, or backups. All sensitive content stays on your device or in your cloud account.
-
The app can access:
Photos and videos (to display your gallery and create backups)
SMS/MMS messages (if you choose to back them up)
Contacts (only to correctly associate messages during backup/restore)
Files the app itself creates in your cloud storage
The app cannot access or view any other files in your cloud account.
Green Bubble Tech cannot read, track, or identify what you upload or download. -
Yes. All data is encrypted on your device before it’s uploaded, and all transfers use secure HTTPS/TLS connections. Only you know what’s being backed up—your content is never visible to us.
-
Open the app → go to About / Privacy → scroll to the bottom → tap Delete Account.
This removes your Green Bubble account and any associated app‑side data.
It does not delete files stored in your cloud provider. -
No problem. Submit the Account Deletion Request form in our website’s Privacy Center, and we’ll remove your account manually.
-
You can revoke access at any time through your cloud provider’s account settings.
For Google Drive:
Visit myaccount.google.com
Select Security
Scroll to Your connections to third‑party apps & services
Click See all connections
Find Green Bubble Tech
Select Delete all connections
After revoking access, the app will no longer be able to upload or download backups.
-
No. Your backups remain in your cloud account until you delete them manually.
-
Because only you hold the encryption keys. We designed it this way so your content stays private—even from us. Without your keys, we cannot decrypt or recover your backups.
-
We cannot restore or regenerate your keys. Maintaining access to your cloud account and device is essential for recovery.
